ON-COURSE SUPPORT

Medical Support: A fully staffed medical tent will be located at the finish line.
Medical and Safety Information: If you are having problems on the race course and are unable to finish, we have communication available at every aid station and a course marshal riding the course. The Marquette Mountain Ski Patrol will be stationed along the course to offer medical assistance to runners and a team of paramedics from Marquette City Firefighters Local 643 will be at the finish area. Seeking aid at one or more of the aid stations does not prevent you from continuing the race. However, any assistance that results in you being moved forward in the course will result in disqualification.
*Sudden cardiac arrest is the primary cause of marathon-associated death. Runners with pre-existing cardiovascular, respiratory, or chronic diseases should consult with their physician prior to marathon training and participation. Medical assistance is available at the medical tent at the finish line area until 1:30 pm on race day. Only runners in need of medical assistance will be allowed entrance into the medical tent. Emergency Room services at UP Health System are available for those needing assistance after 1:30 pm.*
Communication: The Marquette Mountain Ski Patrol and paramedics from Marquette City Firefighters Local 643 will be assisting us on race day. You will see patrollers throughout the course, on ATVs, and clearly identified. Marquette’s HAM Radio Organization is also assisting race officials and will assist with communication on the course. Every aid station, medical tent, and race director will be in contact via Ski Patrol and Ham Radio and will respond with assistance, if necessary, to any location on the course.
Aid/Water Stations: Aid stations are located approximately every two miles until mile 20, then they are every mile until the finish. Water and Skratch Labs Hydration will be provided at each water station. In addition, a limited supply of Honey Stinger gel packs will be available at aid stations #6, #10, and #13 on the course.
Restroom Facilities: Either permanent or portable restroom facilities will be available at both starting areas as well as at the locations listed on the course map located on the race website.
