2024 FULL MARATHON

The Marquette Marathon is run on a point-to-point course through beautiful Marquette County, located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The start is in the heart of the small iron mining town, Ishpeming, which means “heaven” in Ojibwa. The course then follows the Iron Ore Heritage Trail down into Marquette. The Marquette Marathon will finish at the Superior Dome.

The Marquette Marathon has a history dating back to the late 1970's. The course has changed a few times over the years, with the race now finishing at the Superior Dome. 

The course is certified and fast, with an average finishing time of 4:09 and over 23% of 2022 finishers qualifying for the Boston Marathon, making this course one of the fastest In the Midwest!

2024 FULL MARATHON INFO

  • The Full Marathon starts at 7:30 a.m. in Ishpeming, Michigan

  • Park at the Berry Events Center on race morning and shuttle to the start

  • All Full Marathon runners will receive a bib

  • All Full Marathon finishers will receive a shirt and medal

  • Marquette Marathon time limit: 6 hours

  • ​From Start to Finish: Net Elevation Drop of 814 feet

  • Awards will be presented to the Top 3 Male and Female Overall finishers and the Top 3 in the following age groups; 19 and under,  20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+

  • The Marquette Marathon will feature Skratch Labs Hydration, Fruit Punch flavor, on the course, as well as Acai Pomegranate Honey Stinger energy gel. (Non-caffeinated)

  • $100 = January 1 - March 31, 2024

  • $115 = April 1 - May 31, 2024

  • $130 = June 1 - August 29, 2024

  • $150 = Expo, August 30, 2024
